05:30: Alarm starts singing – ignore it;
06:00: Woke up because of g/f reasons;
06:50: Leave for work;
07:45: Drinking a cup of coffee with co-workers;
08:00: Start working – theoretically speaking, actually I started around 10:00 or so;
14:00: Lunch break, chatter with co-workers, have a few laughs etc.;
15:00: Back in the office – reading the news websites;

The first thing I read today was related to Europe’s gas crisis. Russia behaving in a retarded way [once] more shouldn’t really surprise anyone. It’s not something new and it sure as hell isn’t something that will ever become old. As long as one of the largest countries in the world, the former communist super-power, is still far from being a real democracy there can be no security for the rest of the world – Georgia learned this lesson at great expense.
Second thing I’ve seen was an article about Israel’s surge in the Gaza Strip. Looking at this from an Israeli point of view, it’s maybe a bit understandable since Hamas did launch rockets with longer and longer range at southern Israeli settlements, going to as far as 25 kilometers inside their territory and they’re a constant terrorist threat right next to their people. Since Hamas managed to build up to around 15,000 troops, the fear of them becoming a serious military threat as well is now a reality. But from a Palestinian point of view… it’s close to sick. Almost 800 people dead, many of them being children aged under 16, a humanitarian crisis, another war in an area which has been already through more than enough.
Funny thing is that the U.N. doesn’t get involved by sending international peace forces in that area, even though doing so might actually help. The truth is that the U.N. doesn’t actually “care” about it enough to step up to Israel and the US diplomacy backing them up – Palestine isn’t rich, no one has any economical interests in it, so the democratic world powers will just talk and talk about it while not doing anything remotely effective.
In my honest opinion that area of the world wont even be peaceful. There are two religions and civilizations confronting there, there is too much oil and way too much intolerance. As Bitza in one of his songs put it, “religion is supposed to give birth to harmony, yet thousands die daily from a stupidity…”. I couldn’t agree more, it’s stupid.
